Upstream 50km Challenge

The Isabella and Marcus Fund is an official beneficiary, one of 4 charities. The proceeds provide PhD scholarships to postgraduate students to study DIPG. These scholars will graduate as scientists who will hopefully go on tomake a career out of studying DIPG. The first student will commence studies in 2015 and additional funding is available for 2 more students.

Upstream Foundation ran another fantastic event, it's tenth. Thank-you to the 451 participants who chose to fundraise for IMF, it was great to meet many of you and getting your feedback on the charity. To all the volunteers, an event like this wouldn't happen without your help!

To Brett and Amanda from Team Gem, who travelled from Queensland to be a part of this event in memory of Gemma who died from DIPG in 2007, you looked amazing in your bright yellow tees. Thank you.

Team 'Fight for Lucas' walked in memory of Lucas who died recently from DIPG. Your grief is still raw. Brian, Lucas' dad, was part of this 17-strong team, the largest in the event. You have some good friends who truly care.

It was great to have Matthew Richardson share his time in support of IMF and the event. For many participants, it was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by him at the finish line and receive their medal from "Richo". What a lovely, down to earth bloke.

Finally, Haydn Blake!!!! No words to describe this hero. He completed the event twice, once for Isabella and once for Marcus and for all the DIPG kids. As you passed us on your second leg you inspired a lot of us who were struggling on our walk to keep going.

Thank-you to everyone who donated, volunteered and participated and a big thank you to Upstream for choosing IMF as one of your beneficiaries.

Melbourne Marathon

This was the 5th year that IMF has fielded a team for the Melbourne marathon. Our regular enthusiasts were back again to improve their times. Jonathan Jacobson completed his 10th marathon in a personal best time of 3h 25 min. Tony Ruberto (Marcus' dad) fulfilled his dream of running a marathon for Marcus. A special thank-you to Helen Baimbridge for her wonderful fudraising effort. See you again next year.

Ladies Morning Tea

The 5th Ladies morning tea was more like a ‘High Tea’ this year with scrumptuous food, champagne and Nespresso coffee. This event continues to grow both in size and earnings. Thank-you ladies for attending and your generosity.

Our special guests this year were Liz Dawes and Celia Williams from RCD Fund, a brain cancer charity, who are good friends of IMF.

A big thank-you to our LMT team, who work hard throughout the year to obtain the items that we used for silent auctions and to prepare for the day. It takes many, many hours of work to put together an event like this.

The success of this fundraiser relies heavily on the generosity of businesses and individuals. As always, thank-you to Darren Harrison, Franchisee of Harvey Norman Springvale, IMF’s major sponsor since 2011. Thank-you for the many other gifts provided from local businesses and individuals.

Garage Days

Thanks to the crew at Garage Inc and the many volunteers for hosting the first 'Garage Days 2014' car show at Westfield Fountain Gate.

Congratulations to the winning team 'Bootylicious' and thank-you to all the audience for your generosity, which culminated in lots of research dollars.
